Islamic Car

The world's first Islamic car will be on the road when Malaysia's car manufacturer, Proton Holdings Berhad, is able to design, build and put the car on the road. The idea of an Islamic car is to cater mainly to the large Muslim market especially in the Middle East and North African regions. and Indonesia, about 37km at one of the closest range across the Straits of Malacca, would be a huge market too.

What sort of gadgets will this Islamic car adopt that will consider it an Islamic car?
Islamic features such as compass, kiblat reading and compartments for keeping the Al-Quran and scarves.

The idea was brought up by the Iranian counterparts when a Malaysian business delegation was in Iran. Proton, with the Iranian and Turkish companies who had expressed their interests, would be able to generate greater economies of scale in order to manufacture and market the Islamic at an affordable price. Indeed it's a niche market and Proton has to capture a significant market share to remain profitable.
