Malaysian Lawmakers at Farm Trip

Forty nine Members of Parliament from Malaysia have flew over to Taiwan for a fruitful trip to learn more about the agriculture industry.

It was reported that they have visited the Shangrila Leisure Farm in Yilan County. How do I know? The world medias are chasing our Malaysian MPs wherever they go. Wouldn't any news agency go after them when you have FORTY NINE of your lawmakers visiting one country at one go? At this 'leisure' farm, the lawmakers were supposed to learn about incorporating agricultural practices into their development plans.

But when I read about it in the website, it mentioned the following - Yilan County is a well-organized place for tourist to visit, and visitors are able to reach many attractions in this area, including National Mt. Taiping Recreation Area, Dongshan River Water Park, Nanfang-ao Harbor, Jiaosi Hot Spring, Su-ao Cold Spring, Wulaokeng Scenic Area, and National Center for Traditional Arts.

Our lawmakers are very hardworking and their itinerary would start at 5am till 10pm at night. Wow! Wished that they would do that when back in Malaysia.

They also visited the Ting Tung University of Science and Technology ("TTUST") in Ting Tung County. Overhere, the lawmakers picked up points on how to sells its agro-tourism through its Agriculture Leisure Programme.

One thing I noticed, TTUST was noted as among the most advanced agriculture research and development centres in the world. The weird part is - TTUST don't even own their a website ??????????? Is NST reporting something genuinely here?

Second thing I noticed, where in the world is Ting Tung County. There isn't such a county by the name of Ting Tung. This NST reporter (and the editor) is really way out.

I'm quite sure the following are the correct info:-
- Pingtung County
- National Ping Tung University of Science and Technology

Locally, it seems that the Malaysian government has to explain to the China embassy in Kuala Lumpur here on the field trip to Taiwan (Malaysia do not recognise Taiwan as a country politically).

Even that, the China embassy is keeping an eye on the trip by our lawmakers as mentioned by the embassy's political affairs attaché, Chen Feng. As said, who wouldn't especially when all the forty nine fellas are our Malaysia's lawmakers. Explanation by our Ministry of Foreign Affairs - "this was a private trip, nothing to do with the government".

i don't see what's the rationale of everybody going to Taiwan. It's not like Bung Mokhtar is an agriculture minister. they better prove that they learned something from this trip.cuz seriously, visiting taiwan in such a big group might piss China off. Plus the leisure farm looks more like a tourist destination than a place to lawat sambil belajar. more like lawat sambil bermain

It's sort of like when a panic dog can't do anything but to jump over the fence to make an escape! Desperation comes with desperate acts! What they should be doing, they don't do it properly! What they shouldn't be doing, they do it all.
