Global Leadership Summit at Malaysia

On Monday morning, left home about 7.15am for Seremban town to attend the Global Leadership Summit hosted by Agape Assembly of God.

This seminar was conducted by Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago, USA and will be shown to us via video series (delayed of course) with more than 600 Christian leaders from the Assemblies of God, Lutheran denominations, etc having signed up for this 2008 seminar.

Went straight to the main wet market for a bowl of the beef noodles which is getting expensive. Reached Agape church sharp at 9am.

This is Agape's premise with the main sanctuary on the left. The right hand building housed their offices, classrooms, etc

Their main santuary which could easily seat more than 500.

One of the speakers was Gary Haugen who is the CEO of the International Justice Mission, an international human rights agency that rescues victims of violence, sexual exploitation, slavery and oppression. Will such an organisation thrives in Malaysian context?

This session impressed me the most.

Some of my church mates who will find out about this blog post soon enough. Then you will hear - "aiyoh, why did you post this not so nice picture of mine".

Joanne Yeoh, Malaysia's highly regarded violinist performed at the seminar (yeah, I know..... tiny picture of her here). No DSLR lah.

The praise and worship was led by the host church. Tomorrow will be my church's turn to lead the praise and worship.

Went over to Klana Resort to rest. Sat at the lounge area which was not opened. We waited for some of our team members who decided to put up a night in Seremban than travel up and down. If I knew they were staying, I would have done the same too.

Chit and chat at the lounge area till 6.45pm and out we went for dinner. Went to the Seremban's known restaurant - Regent and it was really packed. Lots of Singaporeans with their highly modified motor vehicles parked outside the restaurant. Roughly around twenty Singaporean cars of mainly Honda made.

This was a recommended book by many church pastors to us, Axiom by Bill Hybels. Bill is the senior pastor of Willow Creek.

After our dinner, went back to Agape chuch around 8.30pm for our turn to practise for tomorrow praise and worship. By 10pm, four of us hopped into the car back to Kuala Lumpur. The moment we exit Seremban and into the North-South Highway, it was traffic jam right in front of us.

Thank God that the jam ended near the Seremban rest & relax area where a small accident happened there. No damage was seen on the only car there but a tow truck was already at the scene. Arrived home around 11.30pm (bearing in mind that it normally takes 30 to 40 minutes to travel) and did the necessary (you guess lah) before blogging about this.

Another full day on Tuesday!
