Barbie's Pregnant?

The famous Barbie toy for young girls has taken a strange twist to capture the young girls' market. Has Mattel, the toy maker, made Barbie an adult now? Why did I ask that question?

It seems that Barbie has another doll version where it shows that Barbie is pregnant and the young girls could play a giving birth scene too.
Are they trying to teach the Sex Education subject in an indirect way?

Things To Do When Free

Do you know when I saw this picture, it gave me a wild imagination for my drama as well ...... hehehe

Oh well, as for this picture ...... it's just marvellous how poor people can fully maximise their talent even without the basic writing instruments. It won't stop them from sharing their knowledge with others.

How thoughtful of this 3 guys!

Toilet Themed Restaurant

This toilet themed restaurant located in Kaoshiung of Taiwan with the name of Marton Theme Restaurant is quite unique. The word Marton is similar to the cantonese word of 'matong' - a place to deposit your stinky stuff.

As for me, it's quite risky to be eating here. Not that I owed them money but I think my stomach will start growling naturally with that sitting position. You know what I mean? Same feelings as if you are spending time at your golden throne.

More pictures in 2 Day Blog.

Terrorist Trained Turtle

This is a terrorist trained turtle, carrying a bomb that could be detonated from afar. It has been sighted coming onshore onto a beach near a USA naval base.

If this was true, it would be mayhem.

This is just a sea turtle which was implanted with a satellite telemetry transmitter to monitor its movement in the open sea. The sea turtle was sent back to its habitation after being rehabilitated at Sea World Orlando and the Georgia Sea Turtle Center on Jekyll Island, Georgia.

World's Largest Cargo Ship

Get a load of this ship!
15,000 containers and a 207 inch beam !!!!!! And look at the crew size for a ship longer than a US aircraft carrier which has a complement of 5,000 men and officers. Think it's big enough?

Notice that 207' beam means it was not designed for the Panama or Suez canal. It is strictly transpacific. Check out the "cruise speed". 31 knots means the goods arrive 4 days before the typical container ship (18-20 knots) on a China-to-California run. So this behemoth is hugely competitive carrying perishable goods.

This ship was built in three, perhaps as many as five sections. The sections floated together and then welded. The ship is named Emma Maersk.

The command bridge is higher than a 10 storey building and has 11 crane rigs that can operate simultaneously.

Additional info:
Country of origin - Denmark
Length - 1,302 ft
Width - 207 ft
Net cargo - 123,200 tons
Engine - 14 in-line cylinders diesel engine (110,000 BHP)
Cruise Speed - 31 knots
Cargo capacity - 15,000 TEU (1 TEU = 20 ft3 container)
Crew - 13 people
First Trip - Sept. 08, 2006
Construction cost - US $145,000,000+

Silicone painting applied to the ship bottom reduces water resistance and saves 317,000 gallons of diesel per year.

What is Globalisation?

Question: What is the truest definition of Globalisation?
Answer : Princess Diana's death.

Question : How come?
Answer :

An English princess with

an Egyptian boyfriend

crashes in a French tunnel,

driving a German car

with a Dutch engine,

driven by a Belgian

who was drunk on Scottish whisky,

followed closely by Italian Paparazzi,

on Japanese motorcycles;

treated by an American doctor,

using Brazilian medicines.

This was sent to me by a Canadian,

using Bill Gates's technology,

and you're probably reading this on your computer,

that uses Taiwanese chips,

and a Korean monitor,

assembled by Bangladeshi workers

in a Singapore plant,

transported by Indian lorry-drivers,

hijacked by Indonesians,

unloaded by Sicilian longshoremen,

and trucked to you by Mexican illegals......

and it's posted in a Malaysian guy's blog.

That, my friends, is Globalisation!

Pisa Tower Dropped to 2nd Placing

The Leaning Tower of Pisa (the name which has been given long time ago) has been drawing lots of visitors to their leaning tower.

Of late, a challenge came from a church steeple in Germany.

And according to the Guinness Book of World Records, the tower in the small village of Suurhusen in northwestern Germany leans more than the famous tower in Pisa in Italy.

They say Pisa's tower tilts at an angle of 3.97 degrees, whereas the tower in Suurhusen leans at 5.07 degrees. As of today, the tower in Suurhusen is ranked no. 1. Frankly, who wants their building to be tilting and challenge for the no. 1 ranking. (source: Reuters)

Which Sex is the Better Driver?

In my journey from home to office and back I tend to bump into some terrible drivers who are either careless, couldn't be bothered type or those learner or lady drivers.

Sometimes, I would stereotyped lady drivers that they are the terrible ones when they couldn't decide where they wanted to go or when they decide to do it, they did it there and then without signalling or expected you to stop for them. When some of these events happened, I tend to think - "it must be a lady driver".

A lady friend of mine was more than happy to send the following photos:-1) Car park exit (for Tanglin Shopping Centre) from right hand side of the picture.
2) The exit is on the left of the picture where the black coloured was.
3) The driver of the white car turned right after leaving the car park.
The main thing my lady friend wanted to highlight in these photos - the driver was a MAN!

Datuknametoolongitis Syndrome

You have to read this posting which I picked up from an email. The original author should be residing in Sarawak, Malaysia. If you knew who the original author is, please let me know.

For easy understanding in the article below, a Datuk is a title bestowed by the Sultans / State Governments.
-------------------------------
I suffer from an incurable disease. Its called Datuknametoolongitis.

Datuknametoolongitis is typically characterised by the sufferer's inability to remember people's names in full, especially that of the Datuks. At best the sufferer can absorb the first three syllables of the name. Anything after that becomes pure gibberish.

Jalan Datuk what-what-what?

Kuching, my hometown, is a city that discriminates victims of Datuknametoolongitis, like me. I'm saying that because 70% of the roads here are named after famous people, most of whom are Datuks, some of whom have unfortunately very very long names.

Many years ago I remember studying at a Chinese Primary School along Pineapple Road, not too far from Palm Road. I remember a Jalan Keretapi (Train Road) near Wisma Saberkas.

There's even a oddly named Jalan Central Barat (Central West Road) , which is a strange fusion of Malay and English words.

Jalan Rambutan. One of the few old road that retained its name. No, there's no Jalan Coconuts.

I then travelled to Perth Australia where I stayed for eight years growing accustomed to road names like Hay Street where I do my shopping, and James Street where there's good bubble tea, great coffee and fantastic pubs at night. The longest road name I've came across is probably Sir Charles Court Promenade, which is more of a walkway on campus than a road.

And then I return to Kuching. And I experienced reverse culture shock.

There are some changes with Kuching that I can put up with. Then there are some that I cannot. One road, two names. One new, one old. Kinda defeats the purpose of changing its name isn't it?

Gone was Jalan Central Barat, its now Jalan Tan Sri Ong Kee Hui . Gone were Palm Road and Jalan Keretapi, its now Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce.

I have nothing against their names. I don't even know who the heck they are. But I'm sure at one point or another probably they did something so magnificient the city council decided to name a road after them. Then another. And another And one more. Then another...

As if remembering long and complicated names wasn't difficult enough for sufferers of Datuknametoolongitis like me, I was further punished by having to differentiate between two almost similar road names. Two roads, similar names. But the difference is day and night.

Its not that I didn't try remembering the names. Believe me, I tried. Its very difficult to know the names by heart. One trick I find very useful is to associate the road name with food.

Doing so helps me remember long road names, but makes me hungry very easily.

It's too bad some road names are a bit too long for me to use that trick.

Umm... Jalan Murtabak?

Then they start naming the roundabouts after these famous people.

Try reading them double fast without pausing.
How bad can this get? I thought those were the worst, I have no idea.

Until I came face to face... with The Mother of All Long Roundabout Names.

Its not true what they said about Sarawakians living on trees you know. That's not what we're famous for.

We're famous for giving road directions to tourists.

Imagine the following scenario:-
Angmoh tourist: "Excuse me, how do I get to the library?"

Local Sarawakian: "Oh that's easy! From here, go along Jalan Datuk Abang Abdul Rahim , turn right at Jalan Tun Abdul Rahman and drive until you reach Bulatan Datuk Temenggong Abang Kipali Bin Abang Akip . Do a 3 o'clock towards Jalan TunKU Abdul Rahman, make a left at Jalan Tun Ahmad Zaidi Adruce and drive until you reach the roundabout at Bulatan Datuk Amar Abang Haji Suleiman Bin Haji Taha . Exit at Jalan Tun Abang Haji Openg , then turn left at Jalan Laksamana Cheng Ho . Soon you'll reach Bulatan Datuk Menteri Abang Haji Mohammad Zin Bin Haji Salleh , where you should turn into Jalan Tun Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Muhammad Salahuddin until you arrive Bulatan Datuk Patinggi Abang Haji Abdillah Bin Datuk Bandar Abang Haji Mohammad Kassim .

The library is just on your left. Any questions?"

Angmoh tourist: "Huh?"

Proposal to Mary

I have blogged about scam emails or those hoax stories/urban legend that circulate round the whole world without anyone verifying how true were they. And now, I have received another one where a guy, purportedly trying to propose to his girl, is using the email system to circulate a proposal, hoping that it would reach her. It has a proper website set up for it as well. It could be a hoax to see how good was the response towards such an email.

In that website, there are no advertisements so it's not a method generated to earn money indirectly by diverting traffic to it. Check it out for yourself.
*****************************************************
You could help me a lot to spread my proposal to Mary - it is important that it is distributed as widely as possible so that it eventually reaches Mary. If you would like to support my proposal to Mary, please send the following text by email to a lot of people :-)

------------- SNIP (email text follows) ---------------
WHEN YOU RECEIVE THIS, PLEASE HELP TO DISTRIBUTE IT TO OTHER PEOPLE!
For a long time I have tried to find a special way to propose marriage to my girlfriend Mary, whom I know for five years now. I wanted it very special, romantic and memorable, something our grandchildren would still remember.

And here is my idea: I will send out the proposal to Mary to 50 complete strangers, people I don't know - hoping, that they will forward my proposal to many people, which in turn forward it again etc. And some day, I hope, it will reach Mary, after it has travelled a very long way. I know, it will take a long time and I am quite nervous.

From the poem my Mary will know immediately that the proposal is for her.
I have created a homepage (http://www.proposal-to-mary.com/) where you can find the current status of my quest. You can use the homepage to check if the proposal has already reached Mary (in that case it is not necessary anymore to forward the mail).

Once the proposal has reached Mary, I will put a note on these pages. Also I will publish there how many people have read the proposal so that everybody can see how far it has spread and that it is getting closer to Mary.

And of course you will find there what I am waiting for most: Mary's answer! I can't tell you, how nervous I am. Will she accept my proposal? Will she like the unusual way how she got it, through the hands of thousands of messengers all over the world?

Please cross your fingers for me! And please - help me by sending the mail to your friends to help it spread, so that it eventually reaches Mary.

And here is my proposal:-
Mary, please forgive me, as you know English is not my native language. And I am not a poet. But I mean it from my heart.

My angel, five years ago, I will always remember the day when fate made us meet, blissful Alaskan moments in May. Earth spun around us and a journey began. Love, warmth, happiness, enough the years to span.

The longer it lasts the more grows our bond. And with 80 still - of you I will be fond. Whatever happens, I will stay at your side.

Through good and bad, together let us stride. No second with you was ever wasted. You are the sweetest I have ever tasted. We have spent so many years - why not a life? Mary, will you marry me - and become my wife?

Mary, if you have received that and have recognized me, then give me a sign so that I can continue with the romantic part of my proposal.

Taking Corners

Recent concluded Moto GP has seen the best of the best trying to wrestle their way for positions in the last race of the Moto GP calender.
Not to be outdone, 2 local guys were trying to emulate them when taking those steep corners.
Another 2 guys took it a step further while riding a bicycle.
A stuntman tried it with a car instead.
For no apparent reason, this guy diced with his own life by using his head instead of his knee to give support while taking a corner.
But the winner goes to this group. The picture says it all.

New Extreme Sports at Big Sea

This group of 'flying' fishermen has a new way of pole vaulting hehehe.......
The pole that they are holding is actually a sharp piece of wood at the end used to poke deep into a fish. But what kind of fish that required such a big pole????

That pole is fit to fish or hunt down a big whale...... Quite inhumane to me.

Outer Space Meteor Hit Peru

Scientists had long time ago predicted that a large meteor may hit the earth on 1 Feb 2019 and wipe out everything, making earth lifeless.

How big or how small should a meteor be in order for it to cause major damage to the earth or environment.

Few days back, a large piece of 'meteor' gave a good landing at Carancas, a town in Peru near the Andes mountain range. This will give scientists a good chance to conduct further studies.

Whether the scientists get to conduct a research, it depends on how dangerous can it be first in approaching such a 'meteor'. Residents living nearby the 'meteor' and those who had went nearer to have a closer look have been reported sick. Was the meteor toxic? Non-environmentally friendly?

Earlier investigations have prompted the Peruvian Nuclear Energy Institute to state no radiation had been detected and that it could not be a satellite part. The 'meteor' landing left a 30m (98ft) wide and 6m (20ft) deep crater. That's really huge!

Belgium is Up For Sale

If you are not a ruler of a country or even a politician that could rule a country indirectly, you could have a chance. An unhappy Belgium citizen posted his country for sale under eBay.be but it has been taken down now....hehe

Why does he want to sell his country? A third party could wreck his country for all he knows. Reason - there is no government in Belgium for more than 100 days now since the government was disbanded. The two political parties, Dutch-speaking Flemish and the French-speaking Walloons, are in not talking terms. They can't agree on a simple coalitian to rule the country that caused a standstill now. Good thing the economy is strong that it could still run smoothly. I bet Malaysia can too (pun intended).

eBay has taken the website down yesterday as there were buyers who had keyed in their amount, the last call at 10,000,000,000 Euro. There's one catch, you need to be responsible for Belgium's loan. So your investment is actually more than 10.0 billion Euro. Outstanding debt was standing at 220.0 billion Euro ..............

In future, if you don't like your country, sell it at the local eBay located in your country (if you have one, of course). Malaysia has one, http://www.ebay.com.my

Wheels of the World

Eye On Malaysia was launched on 6 Jan 2007.

The Great Dubai Wheel is under construction and its wheel diameter will be around 185 meter.

One of the latest attraction in Fukuoka of Japan - the Sky Dream Fukuoka which is about 112 meter.

In bringing up its tourism reputation, the Abu Dhabi emirate is planning to construct a unique Diamond Ring Hotel.

The Singapore Flyer in Singapore of course, should be by March 2008.
This London Eye has been operating succesfully and was featured in Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer's movie.
And the not to be outdone ....... Pakistan Eye. I really admire their creativity actually (but is the wheel real?)

Pattaya International Fireworks Festival

Pattaya is definitely firing up its presence internationally. Covid19 has hit many nations really hard and Pattaya wasn't exempted from ...
