Asian Games 2006 began on 1 Dec 2006 with
Qatar playing host this time. Opening ceremony was held at Khalifa Stadium in
Doha and the games will end on 15 Dec 2006. All 45 countries and region are participating in this 15th Asian Games. Participants will be involved in 39 sports - 46 disciplines.
China has started off the first day of competition on 2 Dec 2006 sweeping all 7 gold medals available thus far. With their mass population, China will dominate the game again with South Korea and Japan posting some challenges.
