A man comes home from an exhausting day at work, plops down on the couch in front of the television, and tells his wife, "Get me a beer before it starts!" The wife sighs and gets him a beer.

Ten minutes later, he says, "Get me another beer before it starts!" She looks cross, but fetches another beer and slams it down next to him.

He finishes that beer and a few minutes later says, "Quick, get me another beer, it's going to start any minute!"

The wife is furious. She yells at him "Is that all you're going to do tonight! Drink beer and sit in front of that TV! You're nothing but a lazy, drunken, fat slob, and furthermore..."

The man sighs and says, "It's started..."

With the latest decision by Election Commission on the non-usage of indelible ink during the polling day on 8 March 2008, this piece of news has flown round the world by now and became a laughing stock in the international community. Maybe the present caretaker gahmen couldn't care less since they are the caretaker only.

Bias in Electoral Process Favors Ruling Coalition in March 8 Poll - Human Rights Watch
(New York, March 5, 2008) – Government restraints on expression, assembly and access to state media will deny Malaysians a fair vote in the March 8 general elections, Human Rights Watch said today.

The authorities’ manipulation of the electoral process appears aimed to ensure that the ruling coalition maintains its two-thirds parliamentary majority. “Once again, elections in Malaysia are grossly unfair to the opposition,” said Elaine Pearson, deputy Asia director at Human Rights Watch. “Malaysia’s ruling coalition is too comfortable with the status quo to allow reforms that would level the playing field.” On March 8, Malaysians will vote for the national parliament. Since 1969, the ruling Barisan Nasional, a coalition consisting of 14 parties, has held a two-thirds majority in parliament, which enables it to amend the constitution at will. Opposition parties currently hold 9.6 percent of the seats in parliament.

An Indonesian by the name of Mas Selamat Kestari, who has links to the Jemaah Islamiah, escaped after obtaining permission from prison wardens to go urine. Somehow, somewhere but actually nobody quite sure, how did he escape from a tightly secured Whitley Road Detention Centre that was meant for dangerous criminals.

As Singapore is Malaysia's neighbouring country, it's important for you to know. Who knows that you may bump into him while holidaying, working or shopping in Singapore or even in Johor Baru, Malaysia's southernmost city which is just across the border. As he was a dangerous criminal, you need to know how he looks like. We need to assist the Singaporean authorities in nabbing this terrorist.

A Singaporean blogger has made a simple 'fit your wallet' print out for your easy reference at any time. After disappearing for a number of days, he could have changed his appearance. Somehow the first face from the right (middle row) resembles someone I knew on TV shows. Phua Chu Kang???? Hehehehehehe. This is not laughing matter as it concerns you and your neighbours' safety. EC: Indelible Ink Will Not Be Used

The Election Commission has cancelled the use of indelible ink for this general election, citing public order and security issues.The stunning announcement was made at a press conference in Putrajaya this afternoon - four days before polling.

The announcement was made by EC chairperson Abdul Rashid Abdul Rahman. Also present at the press conference were Attorney General Abdul Gani Patail dan Inspector General of Police Musa Hassan.

The indelible ink was to be introduced for the first time in Malaysia as part of efforts to enhance transparency. In line with this, along with the introduction of the ink, the EC had also allowed for the casting of postal ballots to be observed by polling agents and the use of transparent ballot boxes.

The EC believed that the changes would quell some of the allegations that Malaysian elections are not free and fair. In preparation for the use of the indelible ink, the EC had previously said that it would buy approximately 48,000 bottles of indelible ink worth RM2.4mil from India.

Women voters were also repeatedly reminded to remove their nail polish before going to the polls on March 8, as it would be difficult to apply the ink otherwise.

Fears of multiple voting
However even prior to today’s shocking EC back track, questions were being asked as to how the EC can compel voters to apply the ink as elections laws have not been amended to include the provision for the use of the indelible ink.

The EC overcame this burden by stating that voters who were against the use of indelible ink would have to fill out a form seeking to be excused before the cast their vote.

The opposition has two days ago ticked off the EC for appearing to have second thoughts on the introduction of the indelible ink.

R Sivarasa, the candidate for Selangor's Subang, said that the ink would stop possible incidences of multiple voting." They misled all Malaysians, not only yourselves, the voters of Malaysia and us, that they would implement the (use of) indelible ink - they also issued numerous statements about how much indelible ink would cost and they said they would buy it." - M'kini

Your guess is as good as mine for the non-usage of the indelible ink. You can't blame me for thinking like that and I'm sure the majority will agree. Election Commission - you have disappointed all Malaysians.

Oil Price Will Continue to Rise

Yeah, my prediction is as per the title "Oil Price Will Continue to Rise". Why did I say that?

Colombia chased and strayed into Ecuador's border to kill FARC rebels. Ecuador, so shocked with that intrusion, decided to cut off all diplomatic ties with Colombia.

Venezuela in supporting Ecuador joined in the fray by strengthening its armed forces fronting the Venezuela-Colombia border.

Even though the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia–People's Army (in Spanish Fuerzas Armadas Revolucionarias de Colombia–Ejército del Pueblo) or FARC rebels, in short, may be real but all this hoo haas were just a cover up. By stirring up this whole confrontations amongst this three countries who so happened to be oil producers were actually good news. Good news for this three countries actually as their national income would continue to rise.

Looking at the map on the left, Venezuela has no reason to be apprehensive about the situation as Colombian armed forces went into Ecuador, faraway from Venezuela.

Tensions created there would cause concerns throughout the world on the fear of shortage of oil production in this three countries. Aren't they clever?

Oil price is hovering around US$103 and Malaysian motor vehicle owners better be prepared for a historic increase in the petrol price, rumoured to happen in April 2008.
