Keep Cleaning For How Long?

While walking through the Happy Garden pasar malam, nature's call came knocking. Slipped into a nearby coffee shop's loo for a quick relief.

Noticed the sign requesting me to keep cleaning the toilet hahaha. Spent some time cleaning the toilet thereafter.

Excuse me Sir (referring to owner of coffee shop), when I can stop cleaning? (after cleaning it for 30 minutes)

How To Smoke In An Aircond Environment?

Malaysia (and many other countries) had imposed strict smoking zones for smokers in public areas especially in an aircond environment.

Now, how does a smoker gets to enjoy the aircond feel and the chance of having a puff without non-smokers complaining.

Out comes a potential big bucks invention. It looks like my house's cooking hood haha. It sucks all those smoke away from what you puff out.

Ain't going to be cheap for a restaurant to install one of those just for a smoker.

20,000 At Underworld Boss' Funeral

Taiwan big underworld boss from the Big Lake gang, Lee Chao-Hsiung, passed away and other underworld gangs will be making their ways to pay a last respect.

The entourage bringing his hearse to the funeral ceremony area was led by 12 outriders. Mind you, they are just his gang members, not the police force.

Being an underworld boss in Taiwan, you are given the right to have the road to yourself even after death.

Morale of the story - when you intend to thread into the underworld make sure you make it really big, that is to aim for the position of the triad leader. Otherwise, don't waste your time.

At the ceremony, the crowd built up and police force has to ensure security there. Now, you wouldn't want a big clash with all underworld bosses appearing at the same place same time.

Not only that it has drawn my attention, it has drawn the attention of international press agencies like the Agence France-Presse and those from Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore, China, Philippines, Malta, France, USA, South Africa

Ironically, he died on 11 March 2010 and his funeral will be on 26 April 2010. The enbalming master must really preserve his body.

The Organising Committee has issued rules and regulations:-
* Each gang can only bring 300 of his/her gang members to attend;
* No persons under 18 years of age allowed to attend (yeah, unless accompanied by a parent due to its violence influence)
* If exceed 300 members, gangs are to present their best members (e.g. 180cm or taller, identical black suits and ties, etc)

Who's who? Many will be attending his funeral ceremony including Taiwanese senior politicians. Under his protection?

But I like the who's who in the Organising Committee better -
1) Assistant to a Legislator
2) Parliament speaker
3) Chief secretary to the President

Japanese leading Yakuza gang, the Yamaguchi-gumi, will be sending their representatives.

Any news from the Italian's leading mafia gang?

Police issued this ultimatum - "No mobilization; no associating; no gang identification."

For such a news, how can it not be published in Mafia Today, the main website reference for all mafias.

Taiwan press are currently presenting his good side (maybe forced to do so) -
1) donations (by his son) up to NT$60 million for thee disabled people and low-income families as well as four major religious organisations
2) known for helping to negotiate the release of a number of kidnapped politicians and businessmen, including the Taichung city council speaker (must be some kind of Godfather who's able to command such a release)

Weird Stuff at HUKM

Was at Hospital UKM today and noticed some weird stuff. Camera went to work immediately.

At first I thot it was an accident but upon going nearer, this fella parked this way because the car park was full.

Since the Kancil car is known for its small size, the driver took advantage of it to squeeze between the lamp post and a car in front (which drove off when I reach there).

While walking about in the hospital, I noticed this eye catching public notice ....... Sunathon???

What word was that? Can someone enlighten me? haha

You need to know the malay language also to understand the meaning of this 'new word'. Does that mean that the hospital will line up hundreds of boys to have the Sunathon all on 5 Dec 2009?

Sorry State of Public Asset

Going to certain government offices (I can say that this applies to any part of the world) is something that many people do not look forward to. The queues would be long, waiting period for the processing of documents may be hours and the worst of all would be the waiting area are congested.

But it won't beat the situation as shown below -

Identification Card Issue

In Malaysia, the compulsory use of the identification card was in existence since my parents' teenage time. It was to identify the general public against the communists or some terrorists running around Malaysia, a weeding process. Not sure on how to go about in getting the card done.

But as I grew up during my era (it's not that long ago, ok?), each boy or girl who reaches the age of 12 will need to go to the National Registration Department to apply for an Identification Card, credit card size.

Nowadays, I see babies getting a new designed Identification Card once the parents register the name of the new born child.

In a way, all Malaysians (including illegal fellas who still can get the Malaysian identification cards thru the illegal means via syndicates in which I don't know how they got it done), generally go about their lifes with this small piece of Identification Card whether it's for employment, banking, education, dealings with government depts and moving in & out of highly securitised buildings.

Now, the new Identification Card comes with a chip embedded into it and it could store your full personal particulars, health info, driving licence info and soon, could act as an ATM card????

Reactions from the people in the following two countries have negative feelings over the Identification Card situation:-

UK
The Home Secretary, Alan Johnson, has just announced recently that the compulsory Identification Card scheme will be scrapped. Maybe it was due to lack of fundings as a figure of £4.8 billion was mentioned to implement it.

Maybe it was a political decision as the Conservative party stated that they will scrap the national scheme if their party wins the forthcoming general election.

But it remains compulsory for the foreigners.

USA
There is this guy that equipped himself with Matrics antenna and a Motorola reader into his car. As he moves around, his reader could scan nearby people's info from their identification cards, passports, driver licences from within a distance of twenty feet.

Such reading is possible due to the fact that RFID chips (Radio Frequency Identification) are embedded into such card or passport.

Since 1 June 2009, all americans are required to equip themselves with a RFID tag document to travel.

Somehow, it was mentioned in the same article that there's a fundamental flaw with RFID - each chip is built to faithfully transmit its unique identifier "in the clear, exposing the tag number to interception during the wireless communication." ......... oooooops!

To further enhance or not to implement at all?????

Airlines' Weird Ways

Ryanair, the Irish low cost carrier, is on with their game to surprise more air travellers. Recently, I had blogged about Ryanair having proposed to charge air travellers for the usage of air plane's toilets.

In time to come, their air stewardess may not need to explain to you on the air safety procedures but if you still want to find out, you would be required to pay £2.50 to read their safety card.

The safety card will show you how to put on the oxygen mask. At the same time, the safety card will teach you where to insert the money in order for the oxygen mask to drop down for your usage. The usage of the oxygen mask will cost you £1.00.

Please bear mind that after reading this blogpost, you are requested to carry small change when you board a flight with Ryanair. Just in case ...... just in case.

One last thing, Ryanair will need to charge you during emergency exit. You see, you would have to use their rubber chute to slide down or a rubber dinghy if it lands on water (provided the plane doesn't break into pieces of course).

Pay £25 and the crew member will allow you to exit through the emergency exit door. What's £25 compare to the value of your life at stake.

Over the PA system, you may get to hear this announcement - "Thank you for travelling with Ryanair and we hope that you'll bring enough cash for your next travel with us".

Ain't this great. Before you leave this blogpost angrily, you have to read this piece of news - Ryanair's prize for weirdest money-making idea.

Not all airlines are looking forward to squeeze your hard earned out from your pockets.

One US airline, Southwest Airlines, put up some money to re-decorate one of the planes with a bikini-clad model. Some passengers called it soft porn.

Southwest Airlines is going all out to lure air passengers to use their airlines. By the way, when you are inside the plane, how are you going to view that bikini-clad lady which is painted on the outside.

Maybe you can view it while waiting at the boarding gate while the plane is having a re-fueling time??!?!?!!?

Watch Made Beyond Its Purpose

Nowadays, watchmakers are making watches beyond its purpose or usage. Only way to differentiate themselves from other watchmakers, each party will manufacture a watch to claim the title of the most complicated watchmaker.

Romain Jerome, a Geneva watchmaking house, has manufactured a watch that doesn't tell time. Now, why would you want to buy something that is called a watch but doesn't tell its time.

The watch is called Day&Night which has two tourbillons working in sequence, one during the 12-hour-day, and the other during the 12-hour-night. During the first twelve hours, only the Day tourbillon will move. It will stop moving after twelve hours and hand over the movement to the Night tourbillon. Selling price - US$300,000.

Just when I thought the first one was complicated, out comes another weird piece.

Manufactured by both Romain Jerome and Cabestan, only six pieces are out in the market. Wondering whether all six have been sold or still being displayed at retail shops.

This watch was made to pay homage to the Pacific, Atlantic, Indian, Antarctic and Arctic Oceans. The last piece, where tiny weeny parts of the Titanic ship were used, was to commemorate Titanic's shipwreck site i.e. 41° 43’ 55’’ N et 49° 56’ 45’’ W. Such a weird looking timepiece could easily fetch US$173,000.

This watch really makes sense to me now. You see the hour arm at last. François-Paul Journe's La Sonnerie Souveraine but surprisingly this watch has a grand sonnerie, or full strike, which sounds the hours and quarters at each quarter, and a petite sonnerie which sounds only the hour at the hour and the quarters at the quarters. It also has an extremely complicated minute repeater.

Selling price - US$544,000. This is crazy!

So by looking at those prices, I definitely can't afford any of it and can only dream about it. Even if I could have afford it, I may not put US$500,000 on my hand. Why? Because not many people will know what kind of brand are those .......... hehe

My aim is much lower - the Oris Williams F1 Team Chronograph 2008. Nothing unique on this model but it's an automatic winding chronograph that is big in size, 45mm in diameter.

Wondering what's the price in Malaysia?

The joke is that people on the street won't be able to differentiate whether your watch is originally authentic or not. Some friends mentioned that buying a fake one is just as good. The only thing you want to know is ............. simple ............. the time, that was the main purpose.

Australians Are Migrating

Malaysians who wanted to migrate have listed Australia as one of the top destinations for migration. When you flip open the Star newspaper, you could see advertisements on provision of services to assist you to migrate overseas with the word 'Australia' splashed across it.

Why Australia? Knew a few friends that have migrated to Australia. Bumped into a schoolmate last year who was providing professional migration services in particular to Australia. If not mistaken, he should have migrated himself and family by now. He did tell me that I do qualify on merit and told me to try ............. yeah, he was sourcing for business at the same time. Anyway, I didn't.

Reasons for those friends that have migrated or some in the process - mainly for their children's education. Firstly, by being a resident there, the school or university fees would be much much lower than by sending them over from Malaysia as a foreign student. Of course, if your family is loaded it's not an issue at all. What's wrong with Malaysian education? You and I know very well.

Next thing people migrate would be for job opportunities. A young couple that I knew migrated owing to better work environment and of course higher salary. They are doing very well now. Malaysia is really suffering from the brain drain of professionals. All my friends who have migrated or in the process are truly professionals in their fields of work. They are bringing their experiences away from this land of Malaysia.

Just when people are migrating into Australia, not many people knew that Australians themselves are also migrating away from their land. How come?

For the record, 76,923 Australians became ex-Australians in year 2007 alone. Those who left were aged between 25 and 54. Out goes 76,923, in came 149,635 to become Australians in the same period .... hehe. I'm very sure that lots of well-to-do or professional Indonesians are flocking into Australia (heard from and verified with friends).

Do you know where did the 76,923 ex-Australians migrated to? Their top destinations were New Zealand (18.4%), United Kingdom (17.8%), USA (9.3%), Hong Kong (7.2%) and Singapore (6.4%). These top five countries have accounted for 59.1% of those who migrated.

Unfortunately, three of those countries - New Zealand, USA and Singapore - are already in recession. If you are migrating or have migrated, why?

Condom for Goats

Not only men has to wear condoms to prevent unwanted pregnancies but goats too.

The condom device, yeah a device and not the usual one that envelopes around a male specie's penis, is put in through the goat''s head and two front legs. The device is called olor by the Maasai tribe in Kenya.

This olor will prevent or make it impossible for the goats to mate. As you knew how animals mate, that olor is really an obstruction.

Reason for the usage of this condom is to prevent unwanted birth at the wrong season. As Kenya do face drought season, the herdsmen try to 'plan' the mating season so that a kid will be given birth at the right season where vegetation are plentiful for feeding purposes.

I would it's hard to control those 'hungry' male goats that roams around freely. If your goat has pregnated another female goat of that belongs to another herder, you will be fined heavily. So, implementing the olor is advisable.

As for humans, olor is useless. In order to prevent humans from mating, chastity belt will have to be used instead. I'm saying preventing here.

Weird Animal in Local Fishing Village

Local travellers were shocked when they were walking around a fishing village in coastal area of Selangor. They thought aliens have landed when they saw three giant figures right in from of them. After cooling themselves, they noticed that the 'aliens' were none other than big octopuses being hanged out to dry.

Best Angles to Take a Picture

I'm sure photographers courted by the National Geographic organisation will do such thing in capturing the best pictures for readers to view.

Car racing enthusiasts will go all out to capture the best picture of a moving rally car.

A picture to be remembered for the rest of the life.

ahhhhhh was he taking the car's undercarriage or something else?

Yeap, you have to go beyond your comfort zone or even engage in dangerous situation to capture a certain scene.

To ensure that you are not within the view of the enemy, this is a safe bet.

My number one salutation goes to this guy (or girl?).

Weirdest Hotel in Pyongyang

North Korea, shutting itself out of the world, is not far back in terms of building towering buildings. Unfortunately, a building that North Korea has committed into building is what I would say out of the world. It's the Ryugyong Hotel located in the capital city of Pyongyang.

It's set for opening soon with an Egpytian company, Orascom Group, continuing the final touch up for it.

The facts known about this weirdest hotel:-
* construction started since 1987
* construction value - US$2 billion (which is around 10% of the country's GDP)
* 1,082 feet tall
* 105 floors
* 3,000 rooms

With that number of rooms, any tourist going into Pyongyang area would still get to stay in the hotel even if all tourists in Pyongyang were to book a weeklong stay.

It has even gotten itself a nickname - Hotel of Doom or the Phantom Hotel.

Safer Neighbourhood in Hampshire

The Hampshire Constabulary (bobbies) is making efforts to be close to the public in their area. Putting adverts up on moving buses were one of the best ideas as it has more publicity. The appointed painter painted, or a poster pasted, on the back of this bus (as below) without any planning. Whoever is that person just went ahead without realising anything.
Just look at the bus' exhaust pipe!

Extraordinaire Job Requirement

Imagine while reading the job vacancies section of the newspaper, you saw this advertisement:-

Job title - Petroleum Engineer
Age - 25 to 35
Work experience - 5 years in relevant industry
Qualification - Degree in Engineering
Marital status - If single, please get married and attach marriage certificate in submitting job application. If married, remain married.

Or, if you have been working for a few years and suddenly the Human Resource Dept issued a memo that read like this:-

To all employees who are still single,
The Board of Directors is of the viewpoint that family union is very important in each of the employee's maturity that will somehow improve the work efficiency.

Therefore, the company is now implementing and enforcing a new rule with immediate effect that is ALL employees who are still single to get married within the next 3 months. Otherwise, please submit your resignation letter by 21 Sept 2008.

You would say that this directive is bias, discriminatory and the people who thought about it have no sense at all.

Well, it's being implemented in Iran in a state-owned companies. One of them being Pars Special Economic Energy Zone ("PSEEZ") located mainly at the Assalouyeh city on the Gulf coast. Reasons are mainly to reduce sexual relations being illegal outside marriage and prostitutions living in the area. Do you with such new rulings, it would stop or even reduce those sins?

PSEEZ's Managing Director, Seyed Abdoljalil Razavi, who would have agreed to this idea holds the PhD and Master of Science in Strategic Management (must have read too much). This must be part of the strategy to reduce those sins. Respect! Respect!

Source - Etemaad newspaper (as if I know how to read) and BBC News/Africa.

Ways to Ensure Your Car is Car Thief Proof

With high crime rate in Malaysia coupled with frequent cars being stolen, people have resorted to a higher degree of locking their cars.

So, besides having a steering lock, the car owner has put up with a padlock on the door. A thief may have to pick the lock in full view.

In this scenario, a saw (whether manual type or electrical type), it takes time to steal the car.

Car owners have to thank motorbike owners for inventing the way to lock the tyre to a pole.

This is quite easy to unlock. A car thief may just have a big cutter to cut the chain off.

hmmmm this van owner is not taking any chances at all.

Waaaaaaah!!!!

Overdoing it. The time taken to lock the car must be a few minutes. What if it rains and you are forced to unlock the chains one by one. Not logical but considered a good car thief proof.

One look and it will turn a car thief away.
The mother of all locks!

9km Jogging Track High Up in Sky

While the capital city of Malaysia, Kuala Lumpur, is still planning for a walkway connecting few buildings, Singapore has constructed an elevated walkway spanning 9km.

While Singapore is preserving its limited greens and allowing walkway users to experience the greeneries along the walkways, Kuala Lumpur's latest KL City Plan 2020 is cutting down the greeneries.

An elevated walkway with 2 main bridges called the Southern Ridges is up and running.
Literally running as a Singaporean blogger, Walter Lim, has used the walkway as his jogging track nowadays.

The highest point of the elevated walkway, 36m above Henderson Road.

Jogging high up in the sky. What a refreshing way of exercising. Way above the congested traffic and pollution.

Going back to my city, there are plans just build elevated walkways / bridges connecting few high human traffic areas.

Projects being planned and mentioned (but hasn't take off):-
* 300m bridge to link Abdullah Hukum light rail transit (LRT) station in Bangsar to the Mid Valley Megamall at a cost of RM12 million (which works out to RM40,000 per metre) - said to be ready by mid 2008.

* walkway to link Menara Maybank, Impiana Hotel and Cahaya Suria Shopping Centre with the Pudu Raya bus terminal at a cost of RM20 million (what's the total length of this walkway?) - said to be ready by mid 2008.

* Best Western Premier Seri Pacific Kuala Lumpur Hotel to The Mall (just build a pedestrian bridge will do, don't go for extra complex walkways) - said to be ready by end 2008.

* the Maju Junction Complex to the Sime Darby building (for whom to walk? there are no tourism sites or interesting spots along this path at all) - said to be ready by end 2008.

* the Pasar Seni LRT station to the main post office building at the Dayabumi Complex. They will be ready by the end of next year (there's an existing bridge already, why the need to incur extra cost?) - said to be ready by end 2008.

First of all, start small. Please connect the walkway (non-elevated) between the two entrances of STAR LRT and Putra LRT at the Masjid Jamek area which is only 20m apart (estimated cost of RM10,000). But latest is that a huge RM5 million pedestrian bridge may be built instead of constructing a 20m covered walkway. What's the rationale?

Next, please appoint me into the City Hall Council because I think I can brag / say even far more greater projects than all the current people in the council.

Planes You Have Never Seen Before

There are many plane designs lately and most of it may not have been commercially viable but test flights were conducted too.

Besides bird watchers, there are also plane watchers and that's the reason why you could catch a glimpse on photos taken by such enthusiastic plane watches who sat at airports upon hearing rumours of weird airplanes that would go on test flights.

I wonder who was the airplane manufacturer that did it for Emirates but they sure do have big ambitions.
The plane's landing on one wheel will trigger the release of the rest of the wheels in few seconds later. What a trial?

This Swissair must be a hot plane that requires lots of fresh air intake into its system.
This KLM Royal Dutch Airlines believes that two pilots' heads are better than one.
A cargo plane called Dreamliner created by Boeing.
A Hawaiian Airlines' commercial passenger jet with numerous turbo boost (10 engines?) to reach your destination at half the time. Could it stop in time upon landing then?
One of those idea for a private jets. So weird! The whole body is out of proportion.

Airbus A380 will lose their status as the biggest passenger airplane when this Delta Airlines' plane goes commercial. This is humonguous.

What a big belly for a cargo airplane. Looks like it didn't manage to go commercial with that weird design or did it actually take-off.
Another one of those powered jets. 8 engines?
What kind of spaceship inspired designs is this? And the airline company was willing to accept such design and to even give it a test?
It was tested but it didn't make it commercially. Maybe too wide for many airports in the world.

Malaysia Exported US$1m Coconut Tree

Malaysia's name came into the picture when it was mentioned that a weird coconut tree that had three heads on a single trunk was actually exported by Malaysia.

Where is this weird tree now? It has been exported to Ivory Coast, Africa and the current owner of the coconut tree (or coconut palm as known in Ivory Coast) has intended to sell the tree for US$1 million.

The owner is of the coconut tree is the Marc Delorme coconut research station in Ivory Coast. The reason that they are selling the tree is to raise fund for their further research. But before selling that tree, the scientists have taken some sample from the tree and hope to multiply it (hopefully to breed more 3 headed coconut trees and more $$$$$$$$). Unfortunately, it could take another 20 years for the results to be known.

The Malaysian owner must be very heart sick knowing the price that it could fetch. But there are millions more of coconut trees in Malaysia and I'm sure some of those trees could be like this too. QUICK!, coconut tree owners in Malaysia, check your plantation now and tell me ...........

I'll post it up here to let the world know so that you could sell it to the highest bidder (we will talk about the commission later ..............).

Pattaya International Fireworks Festival

Pattaya is definitely firing up its presence internationally. Covid19 has hit many nations really hard and Pattaya wasn't exempted from ...
