I remembered receiving emails related to the above subject matter which I have treated it as a spam email. How can your kidneys be stolen?
There is this Snope website which detailed all kinds of spam, scam, hoax, fake, false news collated from throughout the world and if you suspect that that news may not be true, you can check it out in Snope.
Suddenly I came across this news article India's booming kidney racket found in BBC News/South Asia -
"When I woke up, I felt this terrible pain on my abdomen. They told me they had taken out my kidney. "I thought I was going to die." Shakeel Ahmed only wanted to come to Delhi to find work.
Then I compared the above article to Snope's collection -
Kidney stolen after a heavy party fling and left in a bath tub filled with ice cubes which I had blogged under Urban Legends.
Wow, frightening enough that it's real after all. Another myth busted?????
Extracted from BBC News/South India:-
* An estimated 150,000 Indians need a kidney transplant every year, but only 3,500 are available.
* Every hospital has a tout. In fact, the doctors or nephrologists will often suggest a person that you can contact to get a kidney. They charge up to US$10,000.
* The recipients were wealthy clients in India and other countries. Some of them were from Greece, Arab countries, United States and one or two patients from European countries."

What The Roses Say About You
I'm sure florists throughout the world made a bountiful amount from guys on yesterday Valentine's Day. I have heard that the profit made on Valentine's Day would actually cover their expenses for the next few months.
On Valentine's Day, some guys may want to surprise a girl who doesn't know about his affection for her all this while. Some guys would want to rekindle that flame of yesteryears in their relationship. Some would be signalling to his favourite gal to be his steady. Some would think of trying their luck on the girl that they have admired long enough and yet, some would want to break off to hurt that lady on a day where she would remember most.
Giving roses, carnations and lilies would be the norm but florists nowadays have plenty of choices to choose from nowadays. Just when you thought that giving a certain kind of unique flowers would attract the lady's heart, in fact it may be detrimental. Just imagine that a clutch of striped carnations would have meant "Sorry I can't be with you".
Yeah, this blog posting may be a little too late to forewarn some of you guys but then if you have failed miserable, try again on the next joyous occasion - birthday, anniversary and next year's valentine's day of course.....hehe
I remembered that I have read somewhere before that different stalks of roses would have different meaning for example one stalk of rose would be "You are the only one" and three stalks would mean "I love you". For your information, different kind of flowers would have different meanings as well, so choose wisely (just like in an election):-
* Roses – Love
* Orchids - A belle
* Iris - My compliments
* Daisies – Innocence (to use this when caught red-handed with another beauty)
* Tulips - Declaration of love
* Calla Lily – Beauty
* Amaryllis - Splendid beauty
* Hydrangea – Heartfelt
* Anthurium – Hospitality
* Daffodils – Chivalry
* Chrysanthemums – Fidelity
* Carnations - Pride and beauty
* Lilacs - Youthful innocence
* Birds of Paradise – Joyfulness
* Tiger Lily - Wealth, pride
* Peony – Bashful
* Anemone – Anticipation
* Sunflowers - Pure thoughts (to show how innocent of you)
* Aster – Patience
* Gladiolus - Strength of character (favoured by gladiators during the Roman Empire era)
Different type of coloured roses would have different meaning as well:-
* Red Roses - Love and romance
* Black Roses – Vengeance (used for breaking off??????????)
* Blue Roses - Mystery and intrigue
* Pink Roses - Gratitude and appreciation
* Purple Roses - Love at first sight (used for trying your luck randomly on chicks)
* White Roses - Innocence and purity
* Green Roses – Fertility
* Yellow Roses - Joy and friendship
* Lavender Roses – Enchantment
* Orange Roses - Enthusiasm, passion
Others that are important to note which could send the wrong message:-
* Yellow Chrysanthemums - slighted love
* Yellow Hyacinths - jealousy
* Bright and shiny Marigolds - cruelty, grief, and jealousy

Why Should You Register Yourself as a Voter in the First Place
The Malaysian Prime Minister has dissolved the parliament yesterday afternoon, triggering the 12th general election which would be held within 60 days from today. That was also after a big 90 degree turn on his words that he wouldn't dissolve it on Wednesday in an interview with reporters on Tuesday. A colleague said that's what we call a politician. Another rebutted by saying if that was a lowly ranked politician then it's alright but not when he was the prime minister. He's really lousy with his choices of words at times.
A number of colleagues immediately checked their names again to ensure that their names are properly registered at the same constituency / area of voting. (check via this website: http://daftarj.spr.gov.my/daftar.asp)
I did a little survey on a number of colleagues who haven't register to vote even though they were way beyond the minimum age of 21.
Outcome? Of the 4 colleagues who haven't register, one of their names appeared to have been registered. That was a 25% statistics. This colleague was so shock! What do you call this? This is a case of phantom voter. It has always been in the newspaper where oppositions claimed the electoral roll was a farce. The so-called independent Election Commission always maintained that it was clean and updated. I would be conducting more survey on this to see how many persons have been affected.
Good thing that this colleague's name was registered to vote at the Gombak area and the colleague may need to take a short journey there to vote. I said that she should be there early to vote. After that, get the police to stand with her at the names checking counter to nab the phantom voter who would be there to vote as her.
I also reminded her that this phantom voter was also carrying her fake identity card. For those who have not voted/registered, you need to present your original identity card to proof that you were the actual person being present to vote. So, if my colleague has voted while carrying her original identity card, the phantom voter would be shocked when notified that "you have voted earlier". Bear in mind ok, your identity card has another copy out there if it has been used as a phantom voter.
Just when you thought that you won't make a difference with just one vote, those candidates gunning for a win would go all out to secure every single votes available, including this unscrupulous way of using phantom voters.
My point here - even if you were a lazy fella who wouldn't want to line up to vote or couldn't care less about your country, just go and register your name to vote after this election. This move is to avoid your name being manipulated by other parties. Even if you don't intend to vote after that, it's up to you but at least register first. Go to a large post office outlet and you should be able to do so.
Thereafter, I did another survey with some chat friends who were online. I just sent one statement "Are you a registered voter?". Many did respond with some saying they haven't register. For those who did I said "Love you for you had carried out your responsibility well". Some didn't respond with reasons only known to them.
Of those that had responded 2 responded pathetically and if you are reading this blog posting of mine, you know who you are.
What were the responses from this 2 unregistered persons?
- aiyah, my one vote won't make a difference
- whether I vote or not nobody will notice or it won't add/subtract anything
- as if the person I vote for would do something for me
- as if the person I vote for would make a difference at my area
- the country is bad already so no point voting
- if I vote, would it change anything
- even if I did vote for the opposition, the opposition can't rule the country as a whole
Yeah you may tell me off "it's none of your business whether I register to vote or not". Good point there but then think about the followings:-
- you are not qualified to voice out your dissatisfactions against the state government or the federal government as you didn't even vote
- you have to accept whatever that are happening in this country as you didn't vote
- the people that have been elected would actually administrate your country. any wrong moves by them would indirectly affect you personally including your family/relatives/friends too.
My viewpoint: Do carry out your responsibility as a Malaysian citizen wisely.
By the way, the nomination day of candidates standing for election will be on 24 February 2008 and election day will be on 8 March 2008, Saturday.
Another thing, the TV would be airing a short clip telling people to be quiet on whom they would be voting for stating that such thing is a secret. What a crap indeed. Today's Star newspaper has full blown pages showing selected Malaysian citizens being interviewed which also did state their political party choice. The issue about political parties going out to woo voters to vote for them made this so-called secret thing redundant. When people asked me, I do tell them.
If you think it was a secret in the last few elections, just note that your ballot paper has an electoral number linked to the stub being held by the election officials (you didn't know???). In simple lay man words, they knew whom you were voting for all this while. Who needs to know? Those people that uses phantom voters of course.
But for this coming election, the Election Commission shall remove such electoral numbering.
My 2 cents (using all my cents before they are untradeable in March 2008).

Management and Their 'Staff'
On walking into the factory, the MD noticed a young guy leaning against the wall, doing nothing. He approached the young man and calmly said to him. How much do you earn?" The young man was quite amazed that he was asked such a personal question, he replied, none the less, "I earn $2,000.00 a month, Sir. Why?" Without answering, the MD took out his wallet and removed $ 6000.00 cash. And gave it to the young man and said, "Around here I pay people for working, not for standing round looking pretty! Here is 3 months' salary, now GET OUT and don't come back".
The young man turned around and was quickly out of sight. Noticing a few onlookers, the MD said in a very upset manner, "And that applies for everybody in this company". He approached one of the onlookers and asked him, "Who's the young man that I just fired ?" To which an amazing reply came of, "He was the pizza delivery man, Sir...!!!"
Oops!..so called MANAGEMENT! that is how well the top people know their staff!!!

Lame Crocodile Stunt
Don't know whether to laugh or cry for this fella. A Terengganu state exco official swam across the Puteri Lake trying to prove that the lake was not infested with crocodiles.
Why did he do that? It's to comfort the minds of those who criticised him for choosing a crocodile infested lake for a major national canoe competition. Upon finishing his feat, he said that there were NO crocodiles in the lake.
Of course the crocodiles won't surface looking at the number of people that were accompanying one state exco man in the lake. Try doing it with lesser people. Crocodiles also got brains. Could be bigger than his. He was also trying to proof the crocodiles wrong if they were to make their moves as I'm sure his guys were carrying guns for just in case situation.

The Nuffnang Pajama Party
Date: 8th March 2008
Time: 6.30pm – 11pm
Venue: Borneo Baruk Club, Kuala Lumpur
Dress Code: Pajamas! (Or anything you sleep in)
Wah lau eh ................. anything that I sleep in? Hello Boss Stewie, how lah. You should have done a much wider survey with Nuffnang members or even conduct a random survey with the general public prior to fixing that dress code.
Most of the time I'll sleep with my shorts and t-shirt. Or if that night was raining/cooling, I may sleep in my shorts only. Not that I never wear shorts and t-shirt in public but those pajamas would usually be the old and torn attires. You won't wear your latest t-shirt to bed, right?
Don't tell me Nuffnang was expecting semi-naked partygoers appearing at their 1st birthday bash???? What a way to celebrate!!!!
Now that was a guy's pajamas style. Some people spelt pajamas as pyjamas. Which one is correct?
By the way, is the dress code applicable to the ladies as well? Ahem ........... again, the dress code issue was not addressed properly. I'm 101% sure that the ladies won't be wearing what they wear to bed to Nuffnang's birthday bash thus defeating the purpose. Your guess is as good as mine. Furthermore, the ladies would actually go and buy a more conservative new pajamas to attend the birthday bash.
One more thing - I wear spectacles and I sleep without it ......... oh nooooooooooooo. Sighhhhhhh.........might as well not go as I won't be able to see clearly during the birthday bash. In that case, I have to dress up properly to sleep in nights to come so that I could go in what I sleep in for that birthday bash. Ah.......Nuffnang, I'm sure there's no cut-off date for that, right? If you tell me the cut-off date was 12 Feb 2008 then be prepared for a semi-naked guy on that night. You asked for it!
And the best part, Nuffnang has created a sleeping theme for me which is called "I Sleep Better With Chipster”. Just when you thought it was just a party, it comes with many challenges too. My family members would be thinking that I had gone crazy by bringing in the Chipster packs to my bedroom. Surely the following conversation will occur:-
Mom: Why did you buy so many Chipster packs? You still have friends coming to the house during the Chinese New Year?
Me: No mom. Just for myself.
Mom: Huh? Why so many? Surely you'll get sore throat by eating those. You better make sure you drink more water. Those type of titbits have lots of ajinomoto in it one.
Me: Aiyah, you don't worry lah.
Mom: Eh, eh, why are you bringing all of it into your bedroom? Crazy ah? After the ants will go into your room.
Me: Aiyah ma, I know what I'm doing. This Chipster packs will bring me fame later on. It will be an open door for me for something grand on coming 8 March. Explain to you, you also won't understand one lah. Anyway, I sleep better with Chipster.
Mom: Crazy one.
Do consider those concerns raised as above otherwise it could be called Nuffnang's Bashful Birthday instead. My 2 cents (better use as many of my cents before it is untradeable in March 2008).
