Barack Obama's Beast

Barack Obama, the president-elect of USA, will ride in a heavily modified car, the 2009 Cadillac Presidential Limousine, in his inauguration ceremony on 20 Jan. The car is a Cadillac-made model and has been given the nickname of Beast owing to its huge size and for its toughness.

How heavily modified? Just look at the specifications:-
* Hand-stitched leather

* 10-disc CD player

* 8-inch-thick doors with each door having the same weight of a Boeing 757 airliner's cabin door (because of these doors, it's also called the Cadillac One)

* Boot contains an independent oxygen supply and advanced fire-fighting system

* Defence systems include pump-action shotguns, night-vision cameras and tear-gas cannons (the president must have been trained using all this weaponaries)

* Supplies of the President's blood in case of emergency medical treatment

* Petrol tank is amour-plated filled with specially designed foam to prevent it from exploding

* Tyres on the limousine are Kevlar-reinforced, puncture- and shred-resistant, with special steel rims that allow the car to continue driving even if the tyre is missing

The bad part of the car:-
* top speed of only 60mph (how to have a fast escape from danger then?)
* eight miles to a gallon (wow, that's really a beast!)

The price - £300,000

Robert Mugabe Holidaying in Malaysia

Try googling for "Robert Mugabe in Malaysia" and you'll be astounded with the number of results from the google search.

The media is saying that the Zimbabwe dictator is presently holidaying in Malaysia. It was reported that his wife arranged for transfer of funds to Malaysia for their month long holiday. Which bank accepted that remittance?

Where are they staying? Media reported that they are residing in a family home ........ where's that? Any Malaysian saw him yet? Looks like our own mainstream media has not reported about his presence in Malaysia or was there a government directive to keep quiet on this.

No one is holding any demonstration on his presence in Malaysia?

One of his recent holiday in Malaysia was in February 2008 in which his family stayed at Nikko Hotel.

Maybe his family is escaping the cholera outbreak (2,016 died; 40,448 infected) in Zimbabwe right now. Apparently, he's here for his routine health check. Which hospital could he had checked into? I'm sure he would have gotten himself a good hospital. Lemme see, Gleneagles? SJMC? Sunway? IJN? Pantai?

There are so many things being reported about him (those bad stuff of course) and the Malaysian authorities have allowed such a leader to reside in Malaysia.

The best part is that he may choose to retire in Malaysia.

All Malaysian School Kids Will Be Taught To Hate

In view of the Israeli actrocities against Palestine now, tempers are boiling all over the world that the attacks done by Israel is not coming to a stop just yet.

Malaysia's former Prime Minister, Tun Dr Mahathir (a person I revered), has called for a nationwide boycott on USA goods unnessarily.

I thought that the said boycott was bad enough until I read this piece of Bernama news that quoted what the Education Minister, Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Tun Hussein, has to say about the Israeli actrocities.

Please check with your school going kids and help them unlearn what they are going to learn in time to come. It was reported that all school kids will somehow be taught on how to have this HATRED feeling against the Israeli atrocities on Palestinians.

It was mentioned that a particular mass movement will involve those in the teaching profession and education ministry staff to be 'brain washed' first before they instill it in the kids.

Please note that this mass movement has been approved by the Cabinet on 7 Jan 2009 (which involves only Barisan Nasional politicians).

Personally, if the Malaysian government wants people to be aware of such actrocities, just teach the positive way. The government declares the nation as an Islamic nation but now they are trying to instill HATRED into the school going kids (please read this statement with proper understanding, no malice & hatred were meant here before you even thought of commenting on this statement alone). A religion teaches us to HATE? What's wrong with the government?

Kids won't be able to differentiate which is correct or wrong unless with proper adult guidance. School kids will be thinking that whichever nation that attacks fervently and without mercy, that nation could be HATED later on.

If school kids so happened saw their relatives fighting but didn't know what happened actually (even though physical fight is incorrect), the school kids would have HATRED feeling against those relatives because they have been taught to HATE. They won't know how to differentiate in different circumstances.

Nothing better to do? What political mileage is there to gain when all school going kids' brains will be destroyed?

The government is really going too far with this mass movement! Do it the positive way!

Why can't the ridiculous Minsitry of Education teach what LOVE is all about?

Teach school kids on how to LOVE and touch other people's hearts irrespective of race / religion / upbringing. Am sure with this, wars won't happen but with HATRED feeling, it will happen right here in our own country itself if not guided properly.

Tell all your friends to check with the kids and instill the right teaching into their minds.

Sweet Victory for Man Utd

On Sunday morning right after church service, bumped into another guy who's a Chelsea supporter. What else can come out from our mouth when two of us meet up? Football, of course. His remark - Man Utd lost to Derby, a lower division team, during the week and what more this is Chelsea.

Haha ....... I haven't sms him yet and neither has he.

I read about Jose Bosingwa's (Chelsea's right back player) remark in his pre-match interview. He said that he has inside knowledge to stop Ronaldo. I was not surprised as they play for the same country, Portugal. Halfway through second half, Bosingwa was substituted by Juliano Belletti. Rightly because two goals came from his section. I wonder what inside knowledge he has.

I went to the nearby mamak restaurant to catch some football atmosphere. Big match such as this would normally pack the restaurant. True enough and I got a place about 15 feet away from one of their giant TV. Noticed that a number of customers were wearing the Man Utd jersey.

With a number of near misses, the wait for the first Man Utd goal was really too much for us to bear (can't sense any Chelsea supporters around). Moreover, when it went in it was disallowed. A heart attack situation. From the a corner kick, the ball was directed by Cristiano Ronaldo into goal and majority of the customers clapped and made some noise only to realise in few seconds later that it was disallowed.

In the next few seconds, the corner kick was re-taken and somehow, somehow ..... it met with Nemanja Vidic's head and went straight into goal again. It was meant to be Man Utd's goal no matter what. This time the crowd at the restaurant went wild and celebrated high decibels shouts.

The next two goals from Wayne Rooney and Dimitar Berbatov were clinical finish. All players worked hard for this game. I can't believe that Park Ji Sung could still command a first eleven in the team till today. A memorable game with Man Utd winning 3-0 at Old Trafford.

Liverpool, we are coming!

My Liverpool friends told me this earlier despite Liverpool's certain lousy games - "please look at the table". They are just reminding me that no matter how bad they have played, they are still on top of Man Utd in the English Premier League table.

This was the same comment mentioned by two Arsenal friends during the opening season. Will history repeat itself for Liverpool?

Besides Boycotting, Quit Too

The call to boycott USA related goods and services by the former Prime Minister of Malaysia, Tun Dr Mahathir, was echoed by some muslim associations. The associations have called for the boycott to commence on Friday, 9 Jan 2009.

First and foremost, the attack on Gaza Strip has stripped the peacefulness and livelihood of those people residing there. I value human lifes and it's human lifes that we must be concerned about.

With deep respect for the former Prime Minister, I'm deeply concerned with his latest call - Quit your jobs, Dr M tells McDonald's, Starbucks workers.

At this point of economic concern even in Malaysia, the former leader simply called for people to quit their jobs from McDonald's and Starbucks. He is so rich and it was soooo easy just to say that without even thinking. But I think it's so selfish.

Recently, I have spoken to a top personnel from one of the main retail centres in Kuala Lumpur. Her view was that the retail industry would be able to withstand the economic downturn but those involved in the retail industry would be prudent and would tighten their belts.

Another person that I have spoken to is from the information technology industry and the comment was that their industry should be able to hold on at the moment. Still optimistic but would watch their expenses too.

Retrenchment exercises have happened already.

And our former leader suggested people to quit?

I have no interest in any businesses and from my viewpoint, if we quit the jobs and started to boycott the related / linked USA companies, then those companies will definitely shut down forever.

Who else will employ these people who have quit? Tun Dr Mahathir? The present government?

Both McDonald's and Starbucks are owned franchise businesses owned by Malaysians. Are we hitting the Malaysians or the nation of USA? McDonald's and Starbucks are owned by private investors in USA, not the USA government.

By the way, I have one question - why only McDonald's and Starbucks were mentioned specifically? What about 1901 Hot Dog, A&W, Baskin-Robbins, Burger King, California Pizza Kitchen, Carl's Jr, Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, Domino's Pizza, Dunkin Donuts, Kenny Rogers Roasters, KFC, Long John Silver's, Pizza Hut, Scholtzsky's Deli, Shakey's, Subway, T.G.I.F., Wendys and Yoshinoya (anymore?).

This will definitely kill their fast food industry and without fail, ours too. These workers in the fast food industry can then join the estimated 60,000 unemployed Malaysians.

Is Malaysia the only nation that is going on this path?

I have blogged about those related / linked goods and services under Boycotting of Products/Services (I) and Boycotting of Products/Services (II) detailing what could happened if the boycott was successful.

I wonder what will the present Prime Minister has to say this time. He did say, during Israel's attack on Lebanon two years back, that we should think deeply first and told the people not to talk big only.

Let's ask this question before we start boycotting - will our boycott really affect USA (the government should be the main target) or will it hit Malaysia big time and drag our nation into deep recession?

Why not do it at the maximum and boycott the following:-
* Microsoft, Linux
* Dell, HP, Compaq, Apple, IBM (be it mobile, notebook, desktop, server)
* Intel, AMD
* Blogspot, Wordpress

Might as well kick all the USA companies out from the Multimedia Super Corridor as there are too many of them.

My 2 cents!

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans

The movies entitled Underworld (box office revenue of US$95,708,457) and its sequel, Underworld: Revolution (box office revenue of US$111,340,801), were marvellous and full of suspense. With the success of the first two movies, the prequel has to be produced.

Underworld: Rise of the Lycans will be shown worldwide generally on 23 January 2009. This movie will depict the war between the Vampires / Werewolves / Humans. Will this movie be the last of the Underworld series?

Nuffnang has somehow managed to arrange for a premiere movie screening on 20 January 2009 at Cineleisure Damansara. Thanks to Buena Vista Columbia Tristar Malaysia and Sony Pictures, Nuffnangers would be able to watch the movie free provided that a blog posting such as this was notified.

The Rise of the Lycans starts Jan 09 and will be one of the major movie attractions during the coming Chinese New Year holidays.
