Malaysia's ranking in the recent Transparency International 2006 Corruption Perception Index (CPI) has dropped to no. 44 in the listing, down 5 places from previous year. But a minister said "It's not too bad".
If Malaysia was trying to implement any plans to bolster that ranking, I think the following news came out at the wrong timing:-
* Reading: Parliamentary Select Committee on Integrity fixed March 12 for Anti-Corruption Agency (ACA) Director-General Datuk Seri Zulkipli Mat Noor - Lim Kit Siang
* Reading: Explosive allegations against ACA chief - Malaysiakini
* Reading: ACA chief - 'Let the law decide' - New Straits Times
* Reading: Kegiatan rasuah Ketua Pengarah BPR dilindungi Bukit Aman? - Malaysia Today
* Reading: Movement for Democracy and Anti-Corruption (Gerak)
