On 11 December 2007, an english tv channel in Pakistan, Dawn News TV, came up with a reality tv show called the 'Enter the Prime Minister' that will pit Pakistani people against one another to select a winner. The mechanism is just like the American Idol reality tv show.The most co-incidental thing about this reality tv show - its premier show was supposed to be on 27 December 2007. And that was the day when Benazir Bhutto was killed.
Does the owner of the tv station has any sixth sense that that was the day that a new prime minister was required?
The reality tv show was supposed to be a fast track show in order to find a so-called candidate in time for the prime minister election scheduled to be held on 8 January 2008 (now postposed to Feb 08).
Besides being selected as the right candidate to stand as a prime minister for the nation, this reality tv show's winner will get two return tickets to Washington D.C.
