The International Astronomical Union has voted on a resolution to de-list PLUTO from the list of known planets in our Solar System in their 26th General Assembly being held in Prague, Czech Republic. The General Assembly was attended by more than 2,500 astronomers.
Educationists all over the world have to revise their teaching materials now to reflect the Solar System having only 8 planets.
Pluto has been re-classified into a new distinct class of dwarf planets.
