unfortunately....this is how the english is taught at school now...wait i have story to tell....my sister who is younger than my by 9 yrs studied in a SRK(C) when she was in her younger years....Her BM teacher who is a Chinese woman gave the class some paperwork (primary 2)...some pictures were shown and the students were asked to fill up the blank..e.g a picture of a table ..and the student will write meja on the blank spot...
However, as we were brought up speaking English at home and the usage of BM is very little, my sis didn't answered one particular picture, which was a picture of a cat....guess what did the teacher wrote....??...even my dad had to say this "...your teacher is much more stupid than you"....while checking on her school work at home....the teacher corrected her...it was written in bold and in red...MIAO.....!!! it says "MIAO"....and it was supposed to be KUCING.....i laughed my head off...heheheh
Go figure......and i can't believe i'm sending my daughter to the same school....and i have to tell my girl that it's ok to have teacher's correct you even if you're right...(knock my head)
