Do Remember Earth Hour 2009!

World Wildlife Fund-Malaysia has initiated the Earth Hour 2009 in Malaysia to join 999 other cities in sixty two other countries to switch off your lights (better still your electricity).

The event is scheduled for Saturday, 28 March 2009 from 8:30 pm to 9.30 pm only (Malaysian time, GMT +8) which is to convey the support for action on climate change.
Be part of the marvellous event which, where according to WWF-Malaysia, aims to highlight the voice of the people of the world and represent a visual mandate for meaningful policy on climate change.
Malaysia's chapter of Earth Hour 2009-Malaysia depends on you to effect this wonderful event.

Some people may say that it's a waste of time or what could be done to save the climate within one hour only. Well, it's better than not doing anything at all. It doesn't cost you at all and it actually saves you one hour of non-usage of electricity.

This is where you can play a part for the world where the future generations to come depend on YOU!

Yeah, it's YOU!

Thanks for reminder. I will turn ON all the lights in all the rooms plus the lights of my 3 cars. LOL (Don't angry, just kidding) Did you read about the PR company raking in millions in ad fees for this cause? It should be a long term event and STOP all my chimney friends from smoking to pollute the air. At least I have quit smoking after 18 years and I am proud! When is our Teh Tarek?

Just hypnotized the Tenaga Malaysia guy and make him switch off the entire country LOL

But wait. It's free will, we care, we share that truly matters right?

I thought it would be pitch black to do anything, so I quickly took a few photos just before they switched it off :o)

I very quickly ate my dinner before 8.30pm. Cannot stand eating in the dark! It was quite fun until the mosquitoes started attacking!

I think for me, Earth Hour is an event to create awareness of global warming. It's not really to conserve energy or reduce global warming in that one hour because frankly, one hour won't help much.

I hope people will be more aware now and commit to switching off lights and electrical gadgets when not in use.

It's not a matter or switching off everything, but only the unessentials. For example, to me, I like the fan to be switched on because it's extremely hot these days. But when I'm not in the room, I'll switch the fan off. It's all about not wasting resources.

Earth Hour will make a difference once people worldwide start practising this daily in their lives.

If anyone wants to save Earth, don't wait for the last Saturday of March to turn off at that specific hour.

Do it everyday.
