A collaboration between 3 major low-cost carriers ("LCC") could trigger a strong competition to the long-haul distance.
AirAsia, the no. 1 LCC in Asia could be teaming up with
Virgin group's
Sir Richard Branson and Sir Stelios Haji-loannou of
EasyGroup, the parent of
EasyJet. The new venture could be based in Malaysia itself.

The alliance could pave the way for AirAsia to penetrate the European routes and vice versa for both Virgin and EasyJet to have access at the
LCC Terminal in Malaysia and from thereon, other Asian routes. Smart move! (source:
